New Wonder RTB on order...will we live long enough to see it? :)

With 270,000 miles on our one-owner 2003 Ford Pleasure-Way, my wife and I decided we better start looking for a replacement RV. The LTV Ford Transit Wonder seems to be a perfect segue! Of course, we were bummed out to hear about the 12-18 month wait. At least we'll have plenty of time to read over the owner manuals! Looking forward to learning from other owners...

I just put in an order for a Wonder RTB today. I was told the same thing, approximately 18 months.

Who knows. It might be like the housing bubbles in 04. People were told 2 year waits. Then everything caught up, people cancelled orders etc and all of a sudden there were houses. I am also guessing that over time people will cancel their orders because they are tired of waiting and just buy something else on a lot.  Did you do a country wide search for available LTVs and be willing to take another model if available?

In the end it will most likely not be 18 months. They are just doing that based on current demand. Once people are flying again and going to hotel and no longer want to take care of that LTV they bought during the pandemic they are going to sell them and people will start picking up used with low miles and that will also result in cancelled orders.

My wife and I ordered a Wonder RTB a couple of weeks ago and we were told its a 3 year wait.  Have you received your order number to register on the LTV website?

Can you provide the link to register on their website?  I am trying to chase down our order number, it would be great to see when it will be delivered
 Thanks

The earliest message on this thread was 3 months ago (as of Aug 24). So I just wanted to put our experience onto the end of this.

We ordered our Wonder RTB in Jan 2021 and were told 18 months. Now we are almost 9 months into the order process. And as of this month, I'm starting to hear that certain shortages in parts for the Transit and other RV shortages are just starting to clear up.

The "word on the street" is that most if not all shortages for parts (electrical and otherwise) will be gone by year end.

Then production can start to clear up the backlog in orders.

BTW - we went through this same process ordering our 2021 Bronco Sport. It was 9 months from order to delivery. And we were lucky to get ours that soon.

Still waiting and no solid delivery date from dealer or LTV.

Just FYI, we were hiking in the Canadian Rockies (Waterton Lakes National Park) this summer and ran into someone on the trail who works at LTV (I recognized the logo on his shirt and asked if he was an owner--astonished, he said, "No, I work there."). The plant was on a 2 week shut down at the time. He told us that, due to supply chain problems, they had something like 125 nearly completed units sitting in a parking lot waiting for a few remaining parts--mostly toilets and other plumbing parts. I know this thread started a year ago but as recently as July 2022 this was the situation.

Today is 08/17/2023. These are all such old posts. Has anyone on this page received their Wonder yet? We ordered our Wonder RTB Dec 2021 with 24 month wait. Were told at the Denver RV show in March 2023 (by the LTV guy) that it won't be until 2024 or beyond. We know it will be worth the wait but want to understand how production has been up to now. Thanks!
