Does the Unity LTV have a chassis isolator switch which allows the chassis alternator to recharge the house batteries when the engine is running?  If so, what year models includes this mechanism?  If not, would an isolator switch be recommended without upgrading the alternator?

Indeed, it does, allowing the generator and shore power to charge the chassis and the chassis alternator to power the house along with the house batteries.  It the isolator switch is under the front passenger seat (not the most difficult to pull and put back).  I unfortunately changed it out when that was not the issue for the two batteries communicating.  The issue I had with the used Unity was a blown 200 amp fuse adjacent to the chassis battery under the driver's side floorboard.  So, if you aren't seeing a connection between the two batteries, the fuse is a $6 fix (even ordering 2 fuses), as opposed to the few hundred dollars and time to remove the passenger seat.  Glad to go through the whole litany if you're curious or in need.  Having the two batteries communicating has made life in the Unity so much easier, that is until the next electrical issue came up.
