Has anyone considered trading out the original Carefree awning for a Domestic A & E Awning 9100 series? My van is a 2021. Apparently the motors are poor on the Carefree.

Not a well built item, after I replaced the motor, my fault, it has been working fine for the last 4 years.
Motor from Amazon about $135, takes about 3 hours to replace.

Thanks for the response. Could I clarify that the motor you replaced was on the Carefree awning. And out of curiosity what did you mean by "your fault"?

The motor I replaced was for the Carefree awning.  I considered replacing it with the manual conversion parts, but this motor was less expensive.
My fault, I put the awning out for some temporary shade, without using the legs, a gust of wind came up, awning did a wild dance, after that it would not work. Was told only fix is to replace the motor.
