LED Gooseneck Reading Lights to Corner Bed model

This mod is equally applicable to all Serenities/Liberos and maybe even adapted to Unities (CB or FX models). The rear LED lights over our corner bed are nice ambience, but not really suitable as bedtime reading lights. I installed Gooseneck LED's in my Rialta, and have now found the same ones five years later to install in my Libero.  Amazon.com: Map Light Chart Light Gooseneck 12 volt fixture Cool White Color...

To have unswitched lights (they have their own local switches) you need to run a new always-on power and ground wire under the "floors" of the ceiling cabinets. In my case I chose to run from the back of the Winegard power and antenna amplifier plate that is on the forward wall of the bed area.  Removing "floors" of all four cabinets is relatively straight forward,  Remove 2 #2 Robertson screws for each one, then maneuver it out of its cabinet.  The rear sliding doors in our aft cabinet could be removed by lifting them and moving the bottom out of the slide track by pushing towards the back of the cabinet.  A couple of holes needed to be drilled, before the the wire could be fished through 1/ at the very front of the forward ceiling cabinet, and 2/ around the corner at the back cabinet. (the holes and wire feed are at the bottom of the cabinet walls, so invisible once the "floor panels" are reinserted and screwed back on). Pics show the power source (back of winegard amp), the wire runs, and finished view of the two gooseneck lights.

One issue with these particular lights is that the included screws and attaching holes are really really tiny, and it is easy to round out the phillips heads if trying to 'drill' them into wood using a tiny screwdriver.  If you use these same lights, I suggest  small pilot holes, or use larger longer screws  (which I had to resort to after rounding out one of them).

Very Nice modification.

We have a 2017 Unity CB which came with goose neck reading lights over the bed.  I have not actually tried them for nighttime reading but I think they would be OK.  You push on the lenses of the light to turn them on and off.  I think they would be more useful if they were longer though, and if so I'll look into the ones you used.  I've attached a couple of pics of what I currently have.
