Retracting step

Winterized our 2018 Unity and pulled out the house batteries...now I can't  get the step to retract.
Any ideas ?

Reconnect a battery with jumper cables to put them in.

Will you be driving it? If not, (in storage) just leave them down. BTW, in most cases there's no need to remove the batteries. Just switch the house batteries off.

If you have solar just leave the batteries in.  The will stay charged.
