I am looking into adding a moped rack on the back of my 2019 LTV Unity MB. Anyone have any recommendations? One rack I was looking at said it had a 500 pound capacity and my moped only weighs 175 pounds. Can the 2” standard hitch receiver that comes with the LTV handle this load? It seems like this setup is pretty common, but should I look into additional bracing?

You may find that after you do that your vehicles overweight. We have a twin bed and only had 750 lb of payload capacity including passengers and Fuel and we were always overweight so I just purchased the trailer and holler electric bikes and much much more in it along with the kayaks which are a fun little add-on.

I went simple and relatively cheap (~$100) with one the same model as "500LBS Steel Motorcycle Scooter Dirt Bike Carrier Hauler Anti Tilt Hitch Mount Rack Ramp with 2'' Receiver Trailer Hitch Pin Carrier" or "600LBS Steel Motorcycle Scooter Dirtbike Carrier Hauler Hitch Mount Rack Ramp Anti Tilt".  Several different suppliers with various prices with essentially the same appearance, though I am not sure 600 lbs, or even the full 500 lbs would be tolerated.  Not an issue with my moped.

One benefit is that not only did it allow me to take the moped out to Mount Desert Island in Acadia, but sometime in the future the tandem bike will also get a go somewhere (photos attached).  No complaints yet.

And yes, the 2" supports that weight (book says tongue weight capacity is 500 lb).  I did have to add some wood blocks onto the cross supports to adapt to the bike and moped, the supports are adjustable, but not quite enough depending on what's attached.
