Intellitec's Automatic Energy Select Switch (AESS)

I have been chasing a Atwood/Dometic water heater issue since I bought a used 2016 Leisure Van.  While learning about what seems like everything from the switches to the water heater (including changes to a good number of the items in the path: 12v relay, control board to a Dinosaur UIB64, heater coil and such) I still have not resolved apparent lack the 120 volt access to the heater.  Granted starting at the 120v power access could have been the initial step, but....  The heater works well on propane so it doesn't appear to be thermostat and ECO sensors are the issue.

Has anyone had an AESS (Intelliec) go bad and only power the microwave from the joint 15 amp breaker (the microwave is quite happy with the current setup, so I gather the microwave is the primary load in the switch).  The connections to the AESS all appear to be good, there is power to the microwave so the breaker to microwave connection is good.

And on a second issue, it  there a source for the original Atwood drain plugs.  Most of the replacement plugs that advertise as Atwood source are not nylon, and don't seal as convincingly.

I might have the answer for this issue.  I jumped all the input wires into the AESS together along with their neutral wire and both microwave and electric water heater are happy and functional.  I hope to have a new AESS from Intellitec tomorrow to finish the issuer (or not as so often has happened on chasing down the electric part of the Atwood water heater).  So it does appear the AESS can fail for all those holding their breath to know if that is an issue to chase. when the electric mode of the water heater is not working.

To carry on my soliloquy, yes, if you find that an Atwood water heater works on gas but not on electric, the automatic energy select switch (AESS) located under the seat behind the driver's seat can be faulty.  It allows both the microwave and water heater to be on only a 15 amp breaker (the microwave takes priority and shuts off the heater when in use).  About $100 to purchase, but for at least one of us only after pulling the Atwood out, replacing the heater element, circuit board, 12 v relay to engage the 120 v circuit and considerable amount of timely exploration.  So if you have gas working on the Atwood, the microwave works (as it is the primary select) but no hot water while on shore power, maybe best to check the AESS (and you could save some money and a lot of time).  Glad to explain how to check it if it comes up.
