Sterling Battery 2 Battery charger

Does anyone have a good definition as to what this Sterling thing does?  I have it on my new-to-me 2021 WRL.  Listening to the Sterling website, it sounds like some Euro regulation interferes with just using a regulated alternator to charge the chassis and house batteries...when not using the Xantrax Inverter/Charger.  Seems unnecessarily complicated, so I must be missing something.
I just got the coach and must leave it for a month or so as I am moving to another state.  I will leave it plugged into a 30A circuit, and expect the Xantrax to do its job and keep the house batteries up even with the main switch on, but since neither LTV nor I have added a Trik-l-start (or the more expensive Sterling version), I do not expect the start battery to get any charge unless I plug in my little 2 amp float charger.  My fear comes from having no idea what the Sterling B2B is doing in the circuit.  I found the jump start positive connector under the hood, but I am just concerned that the charger not cause a problem with the B2B thing.  I also cannot even see how to get to the actual battery's positive terminal under the driver's seat.

The Sterling is only involved when the engine is running, it provides charging to the house batteries from the chassis alternator. The battery(s) under the drivers seat are actually a pair of 6v AGM wired in series. There is an easily accessible pos and neg post under the cover. Use a meter as I can't remember which is which and my unit is off site.

If it wasn't 115 plus degrees outside, maybe I'd have had more patience trying to see the battery terminals under the seat.  I could only get a small tab lifted up for the negative terminal. 
As long as I can safely put a trickle charger on, I'll be ok for now...as I try to figure out the problem that the Sterling is there to solve.  I did find the positive terminal under the hood for the trickle charge/jump start so I can hook up my 12 volt trickle charger.  Looks like there should have been a red cover, but someone previously knocked it off and I just have the positive post sticking up and giving me 12.67 volts.

Yep, the booster posts are under the hood. The cover on the batteries under the drivers seat is a pain, but once it's off there's 2 exposed terminals that are an easy access. I permanently mounted the ring connector harness for my NOCO unit with no issues.

Sounds interesting but what is a "connector harness for my NOCO.....?
