Hi all,
Anyone with a 2023 Unity and the remote key fob capability? Ours worked great for about 1.5 months and then it quit locking/unlocking the coach door. I read in the manual that I need to have the paddle latch switch in the correct position for it to work but it does not say which position. Every position I put it in all the positions and can not make it work. I hear the mechanism try to do something but nothing ever locks.
Related maybe is that our coach door is hard to open and close. We have to slam it to be sure it closed and when we were in cold weather, it would only close if I held the paddle latch open and then closed the door. In warm weather it works better but I often have to push/pull in on the door near the latch to be able to unlatch the door.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. It was a real pain on our recent trip.
Thanks,
Deb
I’ve had the same issue with our 2019 Wonder. I’ve found that if it’s not fairly level it sometimes doesn’t lock or unlock using the key fob. If the door is hard to open and close it’s probably the issue. That’s been my experience anyways.
thanks Robert,
I was thinking that was it but now we are at home and the door is opening and closing easily but the keyfob is not enabling us to do remote locking. I guess I need to call LTV. This is the new Mercedes integrated keylock system and so it is still really new.

I finally called Triple E and talked to our service rep and he diagnosed that the actuator had gone bad and is sending us a new one. I'll update once I get it installed.
Hi all,
Just to report out the final fixes to this problem. I was able to do it myself with a little help from the Triple EEE folks over the phone. The new actuator was great and works well. One tip for people doing this themselves, keep the wiring orientation the way it was on the connect to the old actuator (mine was blue to green and green to blue).
The reason why my actuator broke in the first place is that the door jamb piece that the door lock mates with was not well positioned for the door. The pins were making hard contact and the bolt was only lining up if I pushed the door in with my shoulder. I loosened the two big screws on the jamb and moved the plate a little bit down and a little bit out and now the door is 'easy' to close and the dead bolt goes in relatively easily as well and the door is still water tight. It has been a huge relief to have the door opening and closing easily and the key fob able to lock it easily!
YEAH!
Brian at LTV advised me to clean the terminals with some steel wool and rubbing alcohol. They went from not working to all good!
It sounds like you're dealing with a couple of issues that might be related to the latch mechanism or the key fob system. For the remote key fob not locking or unlocking the door, ensure that the paddle latch switch is in the correct position, as indicated in the manual. If it continues to malfunction, a car locksmith could help troubleshoot the issue, check the lock's electrical components, and possibly repair or replace the faulty latch mechanism. A locksmith (https://onyxlocksmith.com/locksmith-standish/) can also inspect the door alignment, ensuring smooth operation.
I took a hammer 🔨 and slightly bent back the front of the latch, put loc tight on the screws and then out some dry lube on the slanted part of the door latch. Not sure why electronic key not working.
