Title: Faulty LP and Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Post by: Rich Weisberg on September 29, 2017, 11:15:28 am
Seems many are having issues with the LTV installed detectors.  I am on number 3, all replaced under warranty.  Just curious has anyone tried another brand other than the one provided by LTV?

I'm still on my original one so have not had to change it.  What problems are you having?

I'm also on #3 under warranty.  Mine sounded alarm when there was no reason.  Found on the first one that hair spray was setting it off so DW changed to pump spray.  LTV changed out the sensor anyway.  Then the new one started sounding the alarm for no reason and finally had to cut the wires to it and got to La Mesa in Phoenix for the third one.  This one seems to be OK.

Does anyone know if LTV has a build-date range that relates to these early life fails?

Our 2017 Unity (built in June of 2017) hasn't had a detector problem (knock on sierra maple) yet.
